Local SEO

Getting found by the people down the street.

Local SEO isn’t a dark art — for a neighbourhood shop it comes down to a handful of signals, most of which are fixable and none of which are secret. Here’s what actually moves, what doesn’t, and what we can honestly promise.

The honest part

What nobody can sell you.

Distance. Local results are heavily geographic. If three competitors sit closer to the centre of town than you do, there are searches you will not win no matter what anyone charges you. A good provider tells you that in the first conversation.

A guaranteed position. Google doesn’t sell them and doesn’t take requests. Any guarantee of a ranking is either a misunderstanding or a sales tactic.

Instant results. Profile corrections can show within weeks. Reviews, content and authority take months. A year is an honest window to judge this work, which is why our agreement runs a year and why there’s a proper review at month six.

What we do promise: every signal within our control gets fixed, nothing public goes live without your approval, and you get a one-page report every month with real numbers — calls, direction requests, searches — whether they went up or down.

Questions

Straight answers about local search.

How long before I see anything?

Profile fixes can move within weeks. Anything involving your website and reviews is months, not days. Anyone promising you page one by next Tuesday is either guessing or lying, and we’d rather lose the job than say it.

Can you guarantee I’ll rank first?

No, and nobody honestly can. Google doesn’t sell positions in the local results and doesn’t take instructions from us. What we can do is fix every signal that’s actually in our control and show you the numbers every month.

Does paying for Google Ads help my map ranking?

No. Ads buy a different slot. They can be worth running, but they don’t move your position in the local results at all, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something.

Why does my business look fine to me but not to customers?

Because local results depend heavily on where the searcher is standing. Searching from inside your own shop is the one search guaranteed to flatter you. Try it from a few miles away and you’ll see what your customers see.

What’s the single biggest thing I can fix?

Nine times out of ten, the primary category on your Google Business Profile, followed by making sure your name, address and phone number match everywhere they appear online. Both are free. Neither requires hiring anyone.
